Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd., via its subsidiary Zijin Gold (Group) Co., Ltd., acquired an interest in Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining Co., Ltd. This share acquisition gives Zijin Mining approximately 25.85% of shares and controlling power in the gold mining company. Zijin Mining is a global miner, and Chifeng operates gold mines internationally.
Zijin Gold (Group) Co., Ltd., ( Zijin ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd. ( Zijin Mining ), proposes to acquire an interest in Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining Co., Ltd. ( Chifeng ), so that post-acquisition Zijin Mining as a whole will hold approximately 25.85% of the total number of shares in Chifeng, and acquire controlling power in Chifeng. Zijin Mining is a global mining company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange. It is primarily engaged in exploration, mining and processing of mineral resources. Its principal products include gold, copper, zinc, lithium, silver, molybdenum and other metals such as iron ore concentrate, cobalt and sulfuric acid. Zijin, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zijin Mining invests and manages the exploration and mining of mineral resources. Norton Gold Fields Pty Ltd ( Norton ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zijin Gold International Company Limited (a company under control of Zijin Mining), is a gold producer with mining and processing operations in Western Australia. Norton has a number of owned and controlled Australian entities, including Paddington Gold Pty Limited. The Norton Group is one of Australia's largest domestic gold producers with mining and processing complexes located in Western Australia's Kalgoorlie gold region. Chifeng is a gold mining company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Chifeng owns 7 operating mines and a resources recycling company in China, Southeast Asia and West Africa. Chifeng’s main product is gold, and it also produces copper, lead, zinc, molybdenum and rare earths. Chifeng exports gold doré to customers in Australia but does not have any operating mines, assets or subsidiaries in Australia.
