The proposed acquisition will occur largely by way of asset sale. Rocket Software is a global provider of infrastructure and application software solutions. Rocket’s products and services focus on modernising and optimising applications on mainframe computers. Bain Capital is a private equity investment firm that invests in companies across a number of industries, including information technology, healthcare, retail and consumer products, communications, financial services and industrial/manufacturing. Vertica is an enterprise-grade analytical database software that currently forms part of Open Text. Vertica is designed for large-scale data analytics within a customer’s own IT environment.
