Covetrus, Inc. proposes to acquire 100% of the shares in MWI Veterinary Supply, Inc., a subsidiary of Cencora Inc. Both companies are global wholesale distributors of animal health products and veterinary practice management software. Covetrus is jointly controlled by TPG Inc. and Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC.
Covetrus, Inc. ( Covetrus ) proposes to acquire 100% of the shares in MWI Veterinary Supply, Inc. ( MWI Animal Health ). Covetrus is a global wholesale distributor of animal health products, including pharmaceuticals, nutrition, medical devices and consumables. Covetrus also supplies veterinary practice management software, including Covetrus Ascend, RxWorks, Vetlytics, VisionVPM. Covetrus is currently jointly controlled by funds managed and/or advised by TPG Inc. ( TPG ) and funds managed and/or advised by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC ( CD&R ). TPG is a global alternative asset manager firm. TPG has interests in Greencross Vets, an Australian provider of veterinary services, pet services and pet retail stores (through its Petbarn and City Farmers brands). CD&R is a private equity investment group based in the United States. MWI Animal Health is currently a subsidiary of Cencora Inc. MWI Animal Health is a multinational wholesale distributor of animal health products, including pharmaceuticals, nutrition and veterinary instruments. MWI Animal Health also supplies a veterinary practice management software called Merlin.
